Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 9, 2026
SkipHi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and safeguard the information you provide when you access or use the SkipHi mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, you should discontinue use of the Service immediately.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you register for an account and build your profile, we collect the personal information you voluntarily provide. This includes your name, date of birth, gender, pronouns, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and geographic location (country, state, and city). We also collect information about your relationship preferences, including your dating goals, relationship status, desired timeline for commitment, and lifestyle preferences such as your attitudes toward smoking, alcohol consumption, and other personal habits.
As part of our compatibility system, you may complete a personality assessment consisting of multiple questions designed to evaluate your communication style, values, and interpersonal preferences. Your responses are used to generate a compatibility profile that helps us suggest potential matches.
You may upload photographs to your profile. We accept multiple images and encourage users to provide clear, recent photos. All uploaded images are subject to automated content review to ensure compliance with our content standards.
1.2 Voice and Biometric Data
SkipHi offers AI-powered features that may require the collection of voice data. If you choose to use these features, you will be asked to provide a short audio recording of your voice. This recording is used to create a personalized AI voice representation associated with your profile. Your voice data is stored securely on our servers and is processed by our AI systems to generate synthetic voice output.
We may also collect biometric data in the form of facial recognition information when you use our identity verification feature. This involves capturing a selfie photograph and comparing it against your uploaded profile images to confirm your identity. Biometric data collected for verification purposes is processed using automated systems and is retained in accordance with applicable biometric privacy laws.
1.3 Location Data
With your permission, we collect precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates) from your device. This information is used to show you profiles of other users in your area and to calculate approximate distances between you and potential matches. Your exact location coordinates are never displayed to other users. We may also use your general location (city or region) for analytics purposes and to improve our services.
1.4 Usage and Activity Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including the profiles you view, your match and messaging activity, the features you use, and the time and frequency of your sessions. We also collect information about your device, including the device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and network information. This data helps us understand usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, and improve the Service.
1.5 Social Media Data
If you choose to link your social media accounts or import content from third-party platforms, we may collect publicly available information from those accounts, such as posts, profile information, or other content you authorize us to access. This data is imported only at your explicit request and is used to enhance your profile and improve your experience on SkipHi.
1.6 Communications Data
We collect and store the messages you send and receive through the Service, including text messages exchanged with other users and conversations conducted with AI-powered features. This data is necessary to provide the messaging functionality and may be used to enforce our community guidelines and ensure user safety.
1.7 Payment Information
If you purchase a subscription or other premium features, your payment transactions are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not directly collect or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other financial account information. We may receive limited information from the payment processor, such as the last four digits of your payment method, transaction identifiers, and subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Providing and Operating the Service: We use your profile information, preferences, personality data, and location to suggest compatible matches, facilitate connections between users, and provide core dating functionality including messaging and profile browsing.
AI-Powered Features: Your voice recordings and personality assessment data are used to create and operate AI representations associated with your profile. These AI features use your data to generate responses and interactions that reflect your personality and communication style. AI-related data is processed using secure, specialized systems designed specifically for this purpose.
Safety and Verification: We use biometric data, device information, and automated content moderation systems to verify user identities, detect and prevent fraud, enforce our terms of service, and maintain the integrity and safety of our platform. Our automated systems screen uploaded content for violations of our community guidelines.
Improvement and Analytics: We analyze usage data and activity patterns to understand how users interact with the Service, identify areas for improvement, develop new features, and optimize performance. This analysis is typically conducted using aggregated or anonymized data wherever possible.
Communications: We may use your contact information to send you important notifications about your account, security alerts, and updates to our terms or policies. With your consent, we may also send you promotional communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
Legal Compliance: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of SkipHi, our users, and the public.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
With Other Users: Certain profile information that you choose to provide — such as your name, photos, bio, age, and general location — is visible to other users of the Service as part of the core dating functionality. Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared with other users.
With Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting and storage, content delivery, content moderation, AI processing, payment processing, analytics, error monitoring, and customer support. These service providers have access to your information only to the extent necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain its confidentiality and security.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SkipHi, our users, or the public, or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
4. Data Security
We implement a comprehensive set of technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data both in transit and at rest, secure storage systems, access controls that limit data access to authorized personnel, automated threat detection, and regular security assessments.
On your device, sensitive information is stored using encrypted local storage mechanisms. We also employ device integrity verification to ensure that the Service is being accessed from legitimate, unmodified devices, which helps prevent unauthorized access and fraud.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements.
Certain data, such as aggregated analytics data that does not identify you personally, may be retained indefinitely to improve our services. Voice recordings and biometric data will be deleted promptly upon account deletion or upon your specific request, subject to any legal retention requirements.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
Access and Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information about you. You can update most of your profile information directly through the app.
Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, including your profile data, voice recordings, photos, and AI-related data. You can delete your account through the app settings, or by contacting us directly. Please note that some information may be retained as described in our Data Retention section.
Opt-Out of Analytics: You may opt out of certain analytics and tracking activities through your device settings or by contacting us.
Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This includes consent for location tracking, push notifications, and AI voice features.
Restriction and Objection: You may have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information or to object to certain processing activities, particularly where processing is based on our legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided below. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended solely for users who are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country. We take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal information receives an adequate level of protection in the jurisdictions in which we process it, including through the use of standard contractual clauses and other transfer mechanisms approved by applicable data protection authorities.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by SkipHi. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or in connection with our Service.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy within the app or on our website and updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We may also provide additional notice, such as a push notification or in-app message, for significant changes. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
